Move over Giada, Martha, Ina, Chole, or Bobby……
Before any of us knew about COVID-19 or social distancing, I was having my last restaurant meal chowing down on Chanterelle mushroom tacos at my new local hot spot. Three days later, I was hoarding foods with long expiration dates.
The last time, I watched TV in the afternoon was with my grandmother. Sitting close to her on her red floral couch, she’d smoke her menthol Pall Malls as we watched As The World Turns, which she referred to as ‘the story.’ Now, I wait with anticipation for mid-day briefings from my mayor and governor. Late-night binge-watching is getting out of hand with shows like Outlander and Little Fires Everywhere. My kids have sucked me into watching ridiculous escapades on TikTok. They are wet-your-pants hilarious! Oh, you too? Phew, I am not alone.
To laugh every day is one of the healthiest things you can do for yourself.
It turns out shaving or cutting hair anywhere on your body is NOT ESSENTIAL. When you watch my video, avert your eyes. My natural hair color hasn’t been seen since Reagan was president!
Which leads me to: I could give you a list of what to do to keep you calm in the time of the coronavirus pandemic. But I suspect you’re already ad nauseam with endless lists from experts. How many ways can you create a routine? Start a meditation practice. Practice deep breathing exercises. Go outside for fresh air and sunshine. Walk a lot. Read a good book. Sleep in a dark, cool room. Stay hydrated with H2O. Gargle with hydrogen peroxide. Use a Nety Pot. Suck on Zinc.
I bet you are like everyone else during this stay-at-home mandate. Are you racking your brain trying to come up with what to feed you or your family?
Are you feeling overwhelmed and unorganized when it’s time to feed you or your family?
Do you get frustrated when you don’t have the right ingredients and the know-how to assemble not 1 but 3 meals a day, 7 days a week, for what feels like forever!
